Detective Andy Anderson

Detective Anderson is the Coordinator for the Task Force and a twenty-two year veteran of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department. Detective Anderson has been responsible for investigations of crimes against persons, with a major emphasis in sex crimes and crimes against children for over twenty years. Anderson has been conducting Internet crimes investigations since 1999 and currently investigates a variety of Internet crimes and is a computer forensic examiner.

Anderson has over two thousand hours of specialized police training including FBI schools and other Federal Training centers on the Investigation of Sex Crimes, Family Violence, Child Abuse, Sexual Exploitation, Investigation of Computer Crimes, and Computer Forensics and is a 1995 graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Detective Anderson is a member of numerous professional organizations including a Charter Life Member for the Missouri Deputy Sheriff's Association, Missouri Juvenile Justice Association, the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad, the Western Missouri Kansas Chapter of FBI National Academy Associates, and Central Association of Computer Voice Stress Analysts, and the International Association of Computer Investigative Specalists. Additionally Anderson is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Rainbow House, past member of the Advisory Council for the Child Advocacy Center, and past Chairperson of the Inter-Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (I-CAN) and past Chair person for the Columbia/Boone County Child Fatality Review Team.  Between 1994 and 2005 Anderson was the National Technical Chairperson for the Skills USA National Skills Competitions in the area of Criminal Justice.  In March 2007 Anderson was awarded the Law Enforcement Certificate of Commendation by the American Legion for his work in protecting the children of Mid-Missouri.
